Marketing Intern 


Symphonic Distribution is a 100% independent music distribution and marketing company headquartered in downtown Tampa, FL and with offices in Brooklyn, Nashville, Denver, and Bogota, Colombia. We focus on distributing, promoting, and developing great independent music from artists, record labels, and many more. We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented intern to support our events, social media, and merchandise operations. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the music industry and work closely with our marketing and events teams.

Join Symphonic Distribution as an Events, Social Media, and Merchandise Intern and gain hands-on experience in the music industry. You'll assist in planning and executing events, create engaging social media content, and manage our merchandise operations. We're looking for a creative, organized, and motivated individual who is passionate about independent music and eager to learn. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a dynamic team and make meaningful contributions to our brand.


Responsibilities // 


Events:


  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of company events, including live shows, industry conferences, and promotional events.
  • Help with event setup, logistics, and breakdown.
  • Coordinate with vendors, venues, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth event operations.
  • Support the creation and distribution of event materials such as flyers, schedules, and promotional items.


Social Media


  • Assist in the implementation of social media strategies to increase brand awareness and engagement.
  • Create and curate content for various social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Spotify, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
  • Monitor social media trends and provide insights for improving our social media presence.
  • Engage with followers, respond to comments and messages, and foster community interaction across social platforms.
  • Utilize Sprout Social to schedule posts across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Spotify, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
  • Manage backlog of podcasts and assist in transferring them to video podcasts on Spotify for Podcasters.


Merchandise:

  • Help manage the inventory and organization of merchandise, including apparel, accessories, and promotional items.
  • Assist with online and in-person merchandise sales during events.


Qualifications //


  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in the music industry and independent music.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passion and knowledge of social media trends and emerging platforms
  • Creative mindset with the ability to generate engaging content.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Ability to learn quickly, to successfully execute based on guidance and multiple priorities
  • Creative thinking that can contribute innovative marketing ideas and execute those ideas in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to report to our Tampa, FL office.


Nice to have //


  • Experience with HTML, Photoshop and/or other design skills
  • Concert goer 
  • Loves dogs and coffee
  • Avid Spotify user


Additional Insights //


  • This position will report to the VP, of Corporate Marketing 
  • Internship will take place in Tampa, Florida 
  • Part time / up to 30 hours a week for 90 days
  • Hybrid (3 day office / 2 day remote)
